Von 7. Juni bis 9. Juni 2018 findet die Tagung „Globale Religionsgeschichte aus regionaler Perspektive. Eine Übersicht über die zweite Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts (ca. 1850-1914)“ an der Universität Heidelberg statt.

In neuerer Zeit kristallisiert sich ein allgemeiner Konsens darüber heraus, dass Religionen nur angemessen in ihren globalen Verflechtungen untersucht werden können. Die Umsetzung dieser Forderung gestaltet sich jedoch nicht einfach. Die vorliegende Tagung will theoretische Perspektiven für eine globale Religionsgeschichte anhand der Diskussion konkreter religionsgeschichtlicher Fallbeispiele ausloten.
