doctoral researcher
for their research project “China and the Transformation of Political Order in Africa”, TV-L 13.

Job description:
- Data collection and data analysis on China’s role in Africa and Chinese academic debates on political developments in Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania
- Fieldwork (data collection, expert interviews) in China
- Contribution to the joint project publications and the project-related workshops
Your profile:
MA degree in Political Science or Social Sciences with additional training in Modern Chinese Studies
OR
MA degree in Modern Chinese Studies with additional training in Political Science/Social Sciences (with outstanding results)
- Excellent language proficiency in English and Chinese
- Advanced knowledge of social science theories and methods
- Study or fieldwork experience in China
- Strong interest in African politics and dedication to cooperate with our partner institutes in Africa
