Dear Sir, dear Madam,
We cordially invite you to a Public Lecture given on the occasion of Bonn University’s 200th year jubilee.
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Christian Borgemeister (ZEF Director)
Topic: Global change and emerging infectious diseases
Date: October 2, 2018, 7 pm – 9 pm
Venue: Bonner Universitätsforum, Heussallee 18-24, 53113 Bonn
About the lecture:
Over the last decade global environmental change (GEC), especially climate and land use changes, have led to the (re-) emergence of infectious diseases. Prominent examples are the rapid global spread of ‘new’ viral diseases like West Nile, Dengue, Zika or Chikungunya. However, in some regions of the world also other important infectious diseases like Malaria and Ebola are on the rise. What is behind the resurgence of these diseases and who are the most vulnerable and affected communities?
