An der Kultur-, Sozial- und Bildungswissenschaftlichen Fakultät, Institut für Asien- und Afrikawissenschaften, ist eine W2-Professur für Transregionale Südostasien-Studien zum 01.10.2017 zu besetzen. Bewerbungen können bis zum 25.02.2016 eingereicht werden.
W2-Professur für Transregionale Südostasien-Studien
Die Professur hat Südostasienstudien im Allgemeinen und die transregionalen Verbindungen Südostasiens im Besonderen zum Gegenstand. Südostasien wird dabei als Kontaktraum definiert, welcher von vielfältigen translokalen, transnationalen und globalen Mobilitäten und Verbindungen gekennzeichnet ist. Eine thematische Ausrichtung auf Prozesse des sprachlichen Wandels, der kommunikativen Strukturen und der kulturellen Zusammenhänge ist erwünscht.
Der/die künftige Stelleninhaber/in soll sich aktiv an der Lehre des BA-Studiengangs „Regionalstudien Asien-Afrika“ in den Bereichen „Sprache und Kommunikation“ und „Kultur und Identität“ sowie im M.A. Modern South- and Southeast Asianstudies und dem M.A. Global Studies beteiligen. Eine maßgebliche Beteiligung am Promotionsprogramm Global and Area Studies wird erwartet.
Die Bewerber/innen müssen den Anforderungen für die Berufung zur Professorin/zum Professor gemäß § 100 des Berliner Hochschulgesetzes erfüllen.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Department of Asian and African Studies, invites applications for a Full Professorship for “Transregional Southeast Asian Studies” (W2) from October 1, 2017. Application deadline is February 25, 2016.
Full Professorship for “Transregional Southeast Asian Studies“ (W2)
The professorship focusses on Southeast Asia in general as well as Southeast Asia’s transregional connections, where Southeast Asia is understood as a contact area that is marked by diverse and varied translocal, transnational and global mobilities and connections. A thematic focus on processes of linguistic change, communicative structures, and cultural interrelations is desired.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute actively to the institute by teaching undergraduate courses for the Bachelor degree program “Area Studies Asia/Africa”, specifically in the areas of “Language and Communication” and “Culture and Identity”, as well as for the Master’s degree programs “Modern South and Southeast Asian Studies” and “Global Studies”. In addition, the applicant will be required to contribute significantly to teaching courses for the Global and Area Studies graduate school program.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz´.
