Buddhism and the Cold War

The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Program in Buddhism and Contemporary Society is pleased to announce our upcoming hybrid conference, Buddhism and the Cold War, to be held on the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus and online via Zoom, June 27–25.
The keynote address by Dr. Laura Harrington (Boston University), “Shaken, Not Stirred: Richard Gard, the CIA, and the Invention of Cold War Buddhism”, will be on Friday, June 27, from 7–9 pm (PDT), and is available to the public for free and can be attended online or via Zoom. This conference will be held on the UBC Point Grey (Vancouver) campus, which sits on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation.
