CfA: Full funded PhD fellowships in Social Anthropology at Leiden University

Call for applications for two fully funded PhD positions in Social Anthropology at Leiden University, Netherlands

The PhD positions are part of a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant-funded project titled „The Entangled Universals of Transnational Islamic Charity“. The project explores the blurred worlds of Islamic charity, humanitarianism, development and philanthropy. It will research how transnational Islamic charities are positioning themselves as universalist projects that address the needs of humanity at large and their entanglements with western humanitarianism and neoliberal welfare regimes. 

One position is for research in Tanzania and the other position is for research in India.
