CfA: Mellon Assistant Professor of Chinese Literature
The Asian Studies Department at Vanderbilt University invites applications for the position of Mellon Assistant Professor of Chinese Literature (non-tenure-track, 2-year appointment, 2-2 teaching load). The department seeks a candidate with an innovative scholarly research agenda and a commitment to undergraduate education. Area of specialization open, but preference given to literature from the 17th to 20th centuries.
Qualifications
Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for their Ph.D, including completion of the dissertation, by August 1, 2024, and no more than four years before August 16, 2024.

To be considered, please submit the following materials: cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, a writing sample (dissertation chapter or article), teaching statement which also includes evidence of teaching effectiveness, including course evaluations if available, 2 syllabi (from existing or planned courses taught) and three letters of reference. Review of application files will begin on February 5, 2024 and continue until position is filled.
Interviews of finalists will begin via Zoom in mid-February 2024. The successful candidate will begin the position from mid-August 2024.
