CfA: One-Year Visiting Position in Asian History and Introductory Humanities

The Department of History at Reed College invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Asian History and Introductory Humanities. We will consider applications from candidates who research any region of Asia (and/or their interrelations with other regions), however, priority will be given to historians with expertise in East or Southeast Asia. We expect to make the appointment at the assistant professor level.
The successful candidate will teach two one-semester history courses of their own creation, and a year-long section of Reed’s team-taught, first-year interdisciplinary Humanities course (https://www.reed.edu/humanities/hum110/). Teaching duties also include advising year-long senior theses.
Candidates should have received their PhD by August, 2024.
