The Office of University General Education (OUGE) oversees the offering of two courses of the University Core Requirements — “Understanding China” and “Hong Kong in the Wider Constitutional Order” under the General Education China Programme.
 
We are interested in applicants who are trained in the discipline of Humanities and Social Sciences with a focus on China. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on the credentials of the candidate.
 
Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree in the Humanities and Social Sciences and (ii) a strong commitment to teaching and the pursuit of knowledge. Research credentials on China-related topics, fieldwork experience in China, or experience teaching China studies would be an advantage.
 
The appointee(s) will teach courses offered by the General Education China Programme as well as general education courses offered by the CW Chu College (CWC). He/she will be expected to contribute to curriculum development and enhance teaching and learning of programmes. He/she will also support the organization of student enrichment activities and academic activities and participate in projects for OUGE and CWC.

Appointment(s) will initially be made on contract basis for one to two years commencing July 2025, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
