AUP has much to offer its authors, editors and users: All our English-language books are distributed globally using Baker and Taylor Book Services for the America’s and Wiley Distribution for the rest of the world. Our books are printed and produced in the UK and the US as high quality hardback books which can be found in libraries all over the world.
All our titles are also published as e-books according to international metadata standards and distributed and sold by major academic publishing partners that include Cambridge University Press (on Cambridge Core), De Gruyter, Project Muse and Jstor. All these partners have strict selection criteria and only accept publishers that meet their – very high – quality standards. Our books are indexed by EBSCO, WorldCat and ProQuest for optimal discoverability in university catalogues and discovery services.
AUP works with prestigious institutions such as International Institute for Asian Studies in Leiden. The Leiden Asia Centre, the EYE Film Museum in Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Frans Hals Research Centre in Haarlem, the Prado Museum in Madrid, among others. We are proud to be publishing partners for ERC grant holders and many of our books are funded for Open Access publication by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). AUP is the preferred publishing partner for large research publications commissioned by the Dutch Government, supervised by the Royal Academy of Sciences.
Furthermore, AUP is a member of the Association of University Presses, which also has a very strict selection process for its membership, among other professional associations in the business.
AUP is a funder compliant Open Access publisher (https://oapen.org/funders/15172476-funder-requirements) and listed as such on the Oapen library. We have clear and equitable open access policies for our books and our journals, allowing authors to deposit the author accepted versions of their works in their university’s depository without embargo.
AUP offers a complete package of editorial and marketing services as well as an excellent author experience as testified by many of our authors.
