Help Enhance the ALA-funded „Sinophone Studies: An Annotated Bibliography“

Over the past decade, Sinophone studies has emerged as a dynamic and interdisciplinary field within Asian studies, distinguished by its multilingual, transnational, and cross-cultural dimensions. As the field continues to grow and diversify, there is an increasing demand for comprehensive reference tools that can effectively synthesize its wide-ranging scholarly contributions across disciplines, regions, and languages.
To address this need, we are developing Sinophone Studies: An Annotated Bibliography—an extensive and inclusive resource that maps the field’s interconnected research landscape. Hosted on a user-friendly online platform, this bibliography will serve as a centralized hub for scholars, students, and researchers, offering curated access to key materials in Sinophone studies. It aims to support and advance scholarly engagement with Sinophone studies, fostering deeper understanding, collaboration, and dialogue within this vibrant and ever-expanding academic community.
Generously funded by the American Library Association (ALA) Carnegie-Whitney Grant, this project was recently presented at the 2025 AAS poster session, which you can view at https://tinyurl.com/bibproject. To help us refine and enhance the bibliography, we invite your feedback and resource suggestions. Please complete a short survey at https://forms.gle/f9nHH6HKxoXjF9E46 by April 20. Your input will be invaluable in shaping this project, and we greatly appreciate your support!
