Thirty Years of Đổi Mới-Policy in Vietnam. Expectations, Challenges and Achievements
International conference
18th to 20th of March 2016
University of Bonn (Germany).
Thirty years ago the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam officially enacted a policy that substantially changed the economic situation of the country in the years to come. The reform program initiated in 1986, named ‘đổi mới’, enabled an enormous change in the country based on the abandoning of collectivization in the agricultural sector, the reform of the land market, permission of private businesses and intensification of global trade. However, the consequences of economic liberalization were not only felt in the economy but in all fields of daily life.
The aim of the conference is to bring different viewpoints together and offer the option to exchange in an interdisciplinary environment across boundaries, both scientifically and geographically.
Registration is open until March 6th 2016.
